Why we built TubePrep

Publishing a video involves a pile of fiddly checks — will the duration badge cover my thumbnail text? Are my chapters formatted so YouTube accepts them? How long will this script actually run? Most online tools that answer these questions ask you to upload unreleased work to someone else's server. We thought that was the wrong trade-off, so we built tools that do the job locally instead.

What we offer

Five focused tools, each free to use with no sign-up:

• Thumbnail Checker — see exactly where YouTube's UI overlays land on desktop and mobile.
• Thumbnail Downloader — grab any YouTube video's thumbnail in every available size.
• SRT Cleaner — strip timestamps and sequence numbers from SRT/VTT files.
• Script Read-Time Estimator — turn a word count into an estimated video length.
• Chapter Validator — check and auto-fix YouTube chapter timestamps before you publish.

How we approach privacy

Everything runs in JavaScript inside your browser. Thumbnails, subtitle files, scripts and chapter lists are processed in memory on your device and are never sent to us. There are no accounts, no analytics trackers and no advertising cookies. You can read the details in our Privacy Policy.
